Introduction to Ashtanga - a 4 week course running all through the year. The next course running is as follows:
Monday evenings 6th, 13th,20th and 27th February….SOLD OUT
Thursday evenings 8th,15th,22nd and 29th March…..email us to book your place
Beginners’ Ashtanga class - this class is for those who have just completed the 4 week Introductory course or who have done a little yoga before and would like a slower paced class to the Primary Series Led class.
Ashtanga Led Class (half primary series) – this class is the next step up from the Beginners’ class for those who now been coming for a few months or who already have some yoga experience. Variations and modifications are given and the teacher will demonstrate. We cover the first half of the primary series.
Ashtanga Led Class (full primary series) – this class is for those who have attended the Introduction to Ashtanga course and have now been coming for a few months or those who already have at least 6 months yoga experience. It is dynamic and has pace so bring a towel, as you will sweat! There is very little teacher demonstration and the class covers the full primary series with the traditional count.
Mysore style class – if you want to take your yoga practice to the next level this is the class for you and is open for all levels. It’s the traditional way Ashtanga Yoga is taught in Mysore, India where you get the individual attention from the teacher but still the energy of a group class. An understanding of the sequence of postures is requested for this class as there is no teacher demonstration. Instead you work on your own practice with the guidance of the teacher who offers modifications and adjustments personal to you. It is recommended that if you have not practised Ashtanga before that you first attend one of the Introduction 4 week courses to familiarise yourself with the sequence. You can bring along your ‘cheat sheet’ for the first month.
