When and where did you first start practising yoga?
I started ten odd years ago with Tracey Armstrong practising Iyengar yoga here in Townsville.
Why were you interested in the first place?
I thought I am done with physical sports, (I know…!)
So I will do Yoga, easy!
Shoot.. girls do it, so it can’t be that hard.
What is it that got you hooked?
‘Hooked?’ Is that another pose that I can’t do, yet…..!!
It was the people and the energy that got me, a safe place without egos and competition.
What do you love about Live and Breathe yoga?
Beautiful people. Beautiful teachers. A calm escape.
What benefits/changes have you felt since practising yoga?
Knowing my physical limits are linked to my mental awareness.
How often do you practice in a week?
It varies because of work, but I meditate daily (does that count?)
What’s your favourite thing about Ashtanga Yoga?
The set sequence, it’s easier to see and feel improvements.
What would you say to someone who is thinking of trying yoga?
If you come as far as thinking about it, take the next step and find a place, find a space and be proud of yourself because you’re there!!
